In Week 2, St Catherine’s performed their second musical in the Dr Julie Townsend Theatre, A Chorus Line. The production involved a range of students from Years 8 to 12, who rehearsed throughout Term One in preparation for the three shows. Thank you to Director Ms Amy Robertson, Head Choreographer Ms Tyler Fullerton, Theatre Manager Mr Josh Neufeld and Conductor Mr David Gresham, who led the live orchestra in the pit. The musical follows the narrative of a group of people auditioning for a position in a Broadway production, telling their life stories through singing and dancing. It was an amazing experience for the cast and crew, filled with fun times and excitement. As two Year 10 students taking part in our first high school musical, it was a thoroughly enjoyable journey. We were able to form relationships with both the older and younger years, learning and teaching along the way. At the start of each night, the cast would gather on the stage to do a dance and vocal warmup, and then meet downstairs for a final chat before heading to the wings. This was a great way to get our energy up and rid ourselves of any nerves before performing, ready for the show ahead. We are so happy to have been a part of this production and hope you all enjoyed it. Savannah Moar and Samantha Debelle Year 10 |
